HotTube is a place to discuss, argue, enlighten, praise, damn and mediate on what is proving to be one of the most significant forces in the history of media: YouTube.
In the media marshland to which the average citizen has been seemingly exiled, full of predetermined points of view and prescribed opinions, Youtube has fulfiled one of the cardinal promises of the information revolution: unfiltered access.
No more are our choices for entertainment and information dictated by Wall Street and Washington, for now the history of recorded media rests at our fingertips. Finally, perhaps for the first time ever, we can stroll the roads of our own subconscious and memory lanes without a chaperone.
We are encouraged to become part of this universe, to share our moments, or favorites, ourselves. It is in this regard that the 'tube may prove its most lasting, though unexpected, contribution. While everyone from political pundits, to marketing analysts, to your sister may plot at this moment to better use this thing to their advantage, the bigger picture would suggest that this in itself is proof of Youtube's contribution: a planentary photo album.
And so, Hottube exists to satellite, to patrol this phenomenea. Here hundreds will chat, and argue; will call attention to the underappreciated and ridicule the overexposed. You'll find bulletins and messages from the most popular Youtubers. And most importantly: to stay up to date and informed of the latest developments and hottest new vids.
So sit back, relax, post, contribute, start a thread, argue something lame, whatever. Just make noise, this is the ground floor.
Please note that the Featured Artist page has been changed, and will change once a week, and you may now find all our previous Featured Artist's in the Artist's page. Also if you click that picture on your left it will make you grow wings and you will fly to our Featured Artist page instantly.
And by the way, you may want to press that play button in your lower right hand corner, yeah, that one below the navigation. Hells yeah, listen to that and cruise around the site, each page has a different song. Viciousness!
This layout should be viewable in all browsers but in Firefox you can't hear the music, and it's a bit odd. Best if you use Internet Explorer. It contains valid HTML 4.01 Transitional & CSS.
